# Connect to DAM

Turn text into a way into the assets in your DAM.

Connect to DAM turns a piece of text into a route into your assets. A visitor selects it and arrives at a gallery of the assets you chose, without you having to build that page yourself.

## Connect text to your DAM

1. Select the text.
2. Select **Connect to DAM**, or press `Ctrl`/`Cmd` + `D`.
3. Under **How do you want to connect to DAM?**, choose **Redirect to gallery**.
4. Fill in the details on the **Context**, **Criteria** and **Advanced** tabs.
5. Select **Save**.

To remove the connection later, open the same dialog and choose **None**.

## What you can set

| **Context** | The gallery's title and description, which gallery page opens, and whether its assets come from everywhere, a folder, or a label. |
| **Criteria** | Narrowing the assets by type, tags or metadata. |

{% hint style="info" %}
From the inline editor, you can choose **None** or **Redirect to gallery**. **Apply page filters** and **Open catalog** appear greyed out here; they apply to other elements, such as buttons.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
A piece of text can be a link **or** connected to the DAM, not both. Turning on one offers to turn the other off.
{% endhint %}
