Links

Turn selected text into a link to a page, a section, or a web address.

  1. Select the text you want to turn into a link. The control does nothing without a selection.

  2. Select Add link, or press Ctrl/Cmd + K.

  3. Under What do you want to link to?, choose a destination.

  4. Choose how it opens.

  5. Select Save.

Add link in the inline toolbar, with its shortcut.
Option
Goes to

None

Nothing — removes an existing link.

Page

Another page in your Portal.

Section or anchor

A particular section, or an anchor within a page.

URL

A web address.

The link dialog, where you choose what the text points at.

A URL must start with https://, http://, mailto: or tel:.

Linking to a Page or a Section or anchor rather than pasting a URL means the link keeps working if that page's address changes later.

How it opens

Option
What happens

New window

The link opens in a new browser tab, leaving your Portal open behind it.

Current tab

The link replaces your Portal in the same tab.

For anything outside your Portal, New window is usually the kinder choice, so visitors don't lose their place.

A piece of text can be a link or connected to the DAM, not both. Turning on one offers to turn the other off, and warns you before it does.

Links take their color from your Portal's design rather than from the Color control.
