Text levels

Choose which of your Portal's ten text levels a piece of text uses.

Every piece of text in a section sits at one of ten levels: H1 to H5 for headings, and p1 to p5 for paragraphs.

Change the text level

  1. Select the text.

  2. Open the level selector, at the left of the toolbar.

  3. Choose a level.

Why the level matters

The level is more than a size. Each one carries the font, size, line height and letter spacing set for it under Style → Typography, so text stays consistent across every section that uses the same level.

Pick the level that matches the text's role rather than the look you want, then adjust that level's appearance in Style. Every piece of text using it changes together, and your Portal stays coherent as it grows.

Hide a heading from the page outline

Your Portal builds a page outline from the headings on the page, so visitors can jump between its parts. To keep a particular heading out of that outline, open the level selector and select the hide icon at the bottom of the list.

The option only appears where it would change something, for example, on a section's title, at the three heading levels the outline indexes. Deeper headings and paragraph levels are not in the outline to begin with.

List and Horizontal line are only available on paragraph levels. Switch to a p level if you can't find them.
