Download cart

Visitors collect the assets they want and download them together, rather than one at a time.

Someone who needs eight images from a gallery shouldn't have to download eight times. The cart lets visitors gather what they want as they browse, then take it all in one go.

Adding assets

Visitors can add to the cart from a gallery card, from the asset details view, or with Add all assets to cart.

Add all assets to cart takes up to 2,000 assets at once. On a larger gallery the cart fills with the first 2,000 and says so — First 2000 files added to cart — rather than failing. A visitor who needs something further down should narrow the gallery with search or filters first.

Each time something is added, a confirmation appears at the top right:

It shows briefly and then settles back into a small cart button carrying the number of assets collected so far. View cart opens the cart straight away, for visitors who are done rather than still browsing.

Once there is anything in the cart, the button stays at the top right of the page with its count, so visitors always know how much they have gathered. Selecting it opens the cart, where they can review what they collected and download the lot.

What the cart keeps

The cart follows visitors as they move between the pages of your Portal; they can gather assets from several galleries before downloading.

The cart is emptied when they sign in or out, since the assets someone may take depend on who they are.

When the cart doesn't appear

The cart is used for downloading assets, so it follows the same permission. If Allow asset download is turned off for a gallery in View options, visitors will not be able to download assets from the cart.
