# Sharebox

What a Sharebox is, and where to find it in a Portal.

**Sharebox** is the Scaleflex name for a set of assets shared by link — a page an outsider can open without an account and without access to your DAM or your Portal.

In a Portal the same thing is called a **share link**. One feature, two names, because it can be started from either side.

## The short version

A Sharebox carries your branding, holds only the assets you put in it, and can be given a password, a start date and an expiry. The recipient can browse and preview what's in it, and download it if you allowed that.

Sharing a **folder** rather than individual files keeps it current: change the folder's contents and the link follows, with nothing to re-share.

In a Portal's interface you will only ever see the words **Share**, **share link** and **Shared links** — never "Sharebox". The two words mean the same thing.
